coveting covers.

Bed covers, that is.

Several weeks ago, I posted that I wanted Ikea’s Kajsa Träd.  Well, I changed my mind.  Not only has it gone up a whopping $5.00 in price (egads!) but it also isn’t nearly as awesome in real life.  While the swirly bits appear grey in the photo online, they’re actually multicoloured in real life.  Also, the shade of green isn’t as nice as it appears in the photo.  Darn it.  I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

Luckily, I don’t really need bed linens at the moment.  Summertime means that we usually just sleep with a sheet (or, in Greg’s case, on top of the sheet), so bed linen esthetics aren’t really a priority.  I’m also pretty happy with the old Ikea duvet cover that I pulled out of storage.  It’s various shades of yellows and greens, so it’s perfectly fine in the meantime.  Just ignore the ugly “jeans-in-the-wrong-load” stain on it, and it’s perfect!

However, I have a thing for textiles, so I’m always on the lookout for pretty bed sets.  Here’s a few I’m coveting at the moment:

“Zinnea” from Garnet Hill

“Nina” from Crate and Barrel

Marimekko “Lehtimaja” from Crate and Barrel

“Ginko” by Marimekko

“Sakura” from EQ3 (sadly, it’s handwash or dry clean only.  Pssht.)

Those are just off the top of my head.  You may notice that most of these are from American companies that either don’t ship to Canada full stop, or charge three arms and two legs to do so.  I also tend to fall in love with most things on the Target website that they don’t sell in stores.  Sigh.

LOVE the Marimekko bedding from C&B. I was lucky enough to get the silver branches duvet cover and pillows for Christmas. And OMG, I adore the first set you linked to above.
